• Rhino- GU “hot-spot” on Saturdays in particular. But Hoyas are there most days of the week with Tuesday’s usual “Karaoke Night”, and Mondays, which offer a good atmosphere for Monday night football with specials on drinks and wings.
• Old Glory- Usually crowded, but careful of the bouncers-they take the id’s and hold them ransom.
• Smith Point-has a list to get in and that’s the real draw: exclusivity. The most fun bar in the area. Crowd is mostly 21+. If your not on the list: go early, or really late, or with someone on the list. Preppy haven; favorite hot spot of the Bush twins once upon a time.
• Gin and Tonic- (technically Glover Park) preppy crowd that has given Smith Point some competition ( owners hate each other) Fun spot for late night.
• Third Edition (thirds) - Fun atmosphere. Upstairs dancefloor jam packed on weekends and has fun music. Outside there is a new tiki-bar which is fun when the weather is nice. Also really close to Five Guys for latenight ( :
• Chadwicks - a bit more removed from the M street/Wisconsin Ave. serves food. Good setup with booths but hard to maneuver the upstairs when it is crowded.

Adams Morgan

• Dan’s Cafe-Set all expectations low and you’ll be in for a great night. They serve hard drinks/shots in squirt bottles for a reasonable price. This dirty, cheap bar can lead to some crazy nights.
• Angry Inch- fun sometimes overcrowded bar. Easy on the ID’s.
• Reef-Rooftop is super fun in the summer with a great view of Adams Morgan.
• Tomtoms- Thursday night special called “Group Therapy” where you get 4 beers and 4 shots for $10.00.

Dupont

• Local 16-converted house that has lots of different floors and areas to hangout/dance.
• 18th Street Lounge-live reggae on Wednesdays. Older, sophisticated crowd. Converted townhouse that is very cool with a great back deck.

Foggy Bottom

• McFaddens-GW hotspot on Friday nights, but STRICT ON ID’s, stay away, or be nice to the older siblings!

Chevy Chase

• Clydes- Huge AU scene downstairs on Thursday nights.

I started the meal with this incredible seafood soup.  The little crayfish kinda creeped me out, but once I got the meat out, it was tasty.

My partner got this lamb rack, he said it was great, and he ate it all, but I thought it looked a bit heavy for my taste.

The best part about this restaurant, other than the food, is the employees are all a part of a recovery program. Having spent time in either a rehab program, or an incarceration facility.  All of the food items are locally grown, caught, farmed,etc…  somehow all this felt good and made the food taste even better.  Oh yeah, the sangria was excellent!

IT’S BALTIMORE HON, ENJOY YOURSELF!!

This is a large, 2 story venue with live music and guest DJ’s. Food and drink specials every night of the week. Friends tell me it is fun and friendly, so check it out.  The location is in an area that has previously been neglected and rejected by Baltimore.

But check it out now: the west side of Baltimore boasts the Hippodrome Theatre, Lexington Market, The University of Maryland Medical Systems, and a slew of new stuff to come.

This is one of the neighborhoods not to miss if you are in the Baltimore area; short term or long.  We here at UofEating have no interest in Baltimore Bedrock other than to let everyone in on new and adventurous places to make college life more enjoyable and exciting.

1. Spinach; don’t you hate when it gets stuck in your teeth? Most of your friends won’t even bother to tell you, so imagine a first date!

2. Garlic of any kind; there are not enough breath mints in the world to cover up a garlic mouth. Don’t do it.

3. Onion soup; what can you possibly do to eat the gooey cheese that does not look ridiculous? Don’t cut it with a knife and fork, a soup spoon doesn’t do the trick, and you are left with dripping cheese that falls off the spoon and out of your mouth back into the bowl.. not cool.

4. Spaghetti; its not the worst, but usually it has garlic and that is way off limits. When the noodles are long and there is tons of tomato sauce, it can get ugly, splatter on your shirt, and then you look like a geek, best to avoid the possibility.

5. Sushi; our final precaution for first dates. You really need to know your raw and cooked items, and which ones your date will be interested in trying. Also, how good are you with chopsticks? Can’t eat sushi with fork, and you don’t want to use your fingers, best to steer clear until you establish a certain comfort level.

• This is one of the oldest markets in the country. The atmosphere is eclectic: bums and UM Hospital management/docs frequent this place. Reviews
